Vancouver's Best Local Band! "The
local scene had a lot of great bands releasing a lot of good indie stuff,
but the one I enjoyed most was Combine the Victorious. - Tom Harrison BUY "THE WORLD OVER" NOWSong Licensing for CtV We've been lucky enough to have placed four of our songs into the CTV (the television network) series Whistler for the 07/08 season. They've chosen our songs Blue Kitchen, Dafty, and Embrace to feature in one episode, and our instrumental Churchgoer is being used in another one. Pretty cool. In other television related news we've now licensed Blue Kitchen to be the THEME to a new series on Global Television called About a Girl. The track had to undergo severe length reduction (it's a fifteen second spot) and was sped up considerably, edited many times, but in the end the producers approved it (thank you whoever you may be!). So we shall now have a tiny section of our song to open each of the thirteen episodes. Now let's hope the show is good too!! Maybe that 50 bucks a month we spend on cable won't feel like such a waste of money this year. Thank you television. And a special Thank you to Sarah and Jane at S.L. Feldmans. You know we love you for it! One last bit of happy news was our song King's Cross has been awarded Track of the Week on Garageband.com. While I fully realize that Garageband isn't really the big time, it is a nice compliment from our peers. The reviewing process on Garageband.com requires songs to pass through several critiquing stages, all done by fellow musicians or music lovers, before it can be granted Track of the Day or Track of the Week status. I'm curious to see now whether there is any real world result from such an award. I still find Garageband.com to be fascinating. An A&R service run by musicians to weed out the unlikely songs before graduating to a next level of reviewing and assessing. Check it out one day for yourself if you're curious. it's pretty interesting. Well done to Jerry Harrison for having a hand in that one. Anyway, that's everything for now, but hopefully there'll be more news of the world soon! ---------------------------------------------------------
